New Draft on the horizon?

Swirling controversy surrounding GM Sharny and Team White about trades involving half the team. Text messages were flying around this past weekend from GM Sharny inviting Bill Virk to waive his no trade clause and accept a trade to Team White.
Virk's response: "#$%& you 4 games to 1 loser! Team Black Blood runs ramped in my veins. Stink you Lunn' .... BUTTER!"
Even with the 4 games to 1 loss by Team White, Bassi raved about his own personal performance for Team White last Friday. After those comments, Quiznos extended their contract with Bassi to a multi-year contract. Although Bassi is always available for post game comments, our spell-checker was unable to verify what language his email was in.
Lost in all the media chaos surrounding Team White was Pardeeps's brilliant performance on Friday night. Most notable save was a point blank, open net opportunity for Sharny that was denied by Pardeep glove hand save going post to post.
GMs Sharny and Smiter may meet later this week to discuss trade or redraft possibilities. Stay tuned.

TEAM WHITE WINS YEAR END CHAMPIONSHIP! White 6 Black 0

Team White walked out of the N.Delta Rec Center Friday Nite as Champions of the Year, as the season came to an arupt end for team black. Team White demolished Team Black in this final match up 6 games to nothing. The first 3 games were tight as two of the three went to a shoot out. The fourth game was another forfeit for team black as team white rolled over the frustrated niggers and put them away for good. "We came to play tonight, we were ready from the get go there was no way we were going to lose tonight," said assistant captain Ryan Bhala, "you know it was nice beating my former team... i just want to thank Sharny for believing in me and getting me on his team and giving me a chance to prove myself and win a championship." Everybody chipped in for team white on this night as every player scored at least one goal and as usual Bobby LUUU came up huge when needed to.
It was a more sombre mood in the Team Black dressing room afterwards as T. Black captain had this to say..." ya it sucks.. what else can i say... what else do you want me to say... you had two of our better forwards in Billy" i'm a floater now" Virk and Makan"Mak Daddy" on whites blue line the whole game... they didn't come back once to help out our D... then you had Randy Bertuzzi body checking himself head first into the boards instead of the other teams players...what do you do you know there's only so much i can do myself." Bily "bad ass" Virk was seen sitting high up in the rafters of the North Delta Rec. Center after the game was over drinking back a 40 pounder of Captain Morgans drowning his sorrows. Kulvir"i love my grey socks" Kaila left the game early with a supposed upper body injury..after the game he had this to say.."the game was over anyways....i thought i would rest my injury and be 100% healthy for next year."
Well that raps up another year for Friday Nite Ice Hockey at the N.Delta Rec Center. It was a good year this year with very competitive games and good hockey played by both teams and byeach and every player... We'll see you all again next year...In the mean time and in between time....SEe YA!

Black 4 - White 2

Bad ass Billy Virk limped into North Delta Rec center to face his nemesis P. Bassi in another heated Friday Night not made for TV event. Team White came out guns a blazing as they completely dominated the first two games. Bad Ass "Thoombi" Bill, still reeling from the hit last week declined a breakaway pass from center and went wide thinking he was on a 2 on 1. After a freak accident that required Bassi to escort his buddy to 1st aid, Team Black led by their leader Smiter made a remarkable come back as they won the next 4 games. It should be another great clash this Friday night.

White 4 Black 2

This weeks friday nite matchup was held back in Team Whites barn at the North Delta Rec. Center after playing the week before playing in T. Blacks rink at the Newton Wave Pool. That match up ended in a 2-2 tie so nothing was resolved until this week as T. Black got off to their usual 2-0 games lead thinking they got team white where they want them and boost their confidence up. Captain Sharny then called a time-out to get the T. Black troops on the same page as team white stormed back after winning some close games and then blowing them out in the last game to make it a 4 to 2 games series win. The young guns line consisting of Bassi, Pipes, and Junior were on fire in this game as they forchecked hard and scored the big goals that team white needed to win. "Bassi played unbelievable tonight, he was everywhere... he even came back on D to help out," said team captain Sharny,..."i'm proud of my team tonight they showed that resiliance and the capability to come back"... once again also the team white Defence was stellar as they shut down the team black scoring chances after the first two games..."it's certainly frustrating"..said team black captain Smitter.." you cant do nothing once you get in to their zone they're keeping us to the outside and bobby luu is stopping everything that comes his way. we're going to have to try something different thats for sure." Team Black once again showed frustration which was inspiring for team white to see especially assistant captain Billy Virk who was drilled by Bassi in the crease and was never the same again for the rest of the night.. When asked about the incident Virk quickly refused to answer any more questions and was seen leaving the building shortly after slamming back a 26er of bacardi. 3 ssions remain so who ever wins the two out of the 3 sessions wins the championship for the year.

The address is 7120 136B Street. It's right behind the Newton Wave Pool on 72nd Avenue just off of King George Hwy.

Friday Night Hockey - Cancelled

After repeated warnings, and the complete disregard shown by our group towards these warnings, we have been officially kicked out of Delta Rec Center and as a result, Friday Nite Hockey has been CANCELLED until further notice.
The Delta Rec Center Staff called an emergency meeting with their senior staff and superintendent to deal with 10 official complaints filed against our group. After the meeting, we received a call, stating that the superintendent ordered that our credit card be removed from their records and we are no longer welcome to use their facility. Messages left by our commissioner for the superintendent have not been returned.
Due to certain individuals uncontrollable urge to smoke weed/cigarettes before or after games in the dressing room and/or outside the premises, in an effort to boost performance (which by the way was totally unnoticeable) an entire year of building a reputation and strong rapport with the Delta staff, satyanaas kar ke rakhta!! As a result, Commissioner BAD ASS being the public spokesperson for the league, has suffered major embarrassment and is now left with the objectionable task of wiping shit off his face.
We will once again try to resume hockey operations at another facility starting next week, March 2nd, but can't guarantee anything yet. From now on, please inject your steroids, smoke your weed/crack, whatever you feel you need to do at home before you arrive at the rink. Thanks for your cooperation.

For those of you still thinking that this is a joke, trust me it isn't. There is definitely NO HOCKEY THIS WEEK!
Thanks
Management

White 4 Black 2

Friday Nite Hockey picked up a notch this friday as good clean hockey was on display at the North Delta Center between Team White and Team Black. Black got off to a 2 to 0 games lead before T.White captain Sharny Kaila called a timely time out and got his troops on the right page. Assistant captain Ryan" i'm back" Bhala had this to say during that time out..."come on guys what f**k are we doing out there everyone take a man and stick with em... hey bassi get out there and do somethin son you and junior are our young guns...score some f***ing goals." After this inspiring time out T. White came out firing and went on to win the next 4 games, disposing of T. Black. T. White got an all around effort from their players...especially from their defensive core which consisted of Harry, Sonny, myself, and Charlie. Bassi, Pipes,Junior and team captain Sharny all scored big goals when needed and helped out the D as well for an all around effort from T. White. Goaltender Bobby"Roberto Luongo" Sidhu played lites out as well making save after save... You can expect the same type of effort from Team White next Friday nite as well.

Public Address from Smiter

Just a follow up to Sharny's post.

This will definitely be the last week to get your money in. You pay, you play. Simple as that. Most people paid up last week but there are still a few who need to get their money in. You know who you are. (Except for the couple guys that I spoke to who had the money but due to extenuating circumstances they weren't there last week) I don't want to hear any more excuses. This isn't kindergarten where we have to chase you around for you to pay up. You will be turned back at the door this week if your money isn't in. Even if we are short players doesn't mean you will be allowed to play. We will play 4 on 4 or 3 on 3 if we have to to make a point and the remainder of the year will be canceled. I don't want to be the bad guy, but enough is enough and everyone has has had plenty of warnings.

There is enough work involved to organize everything without the extra headache of chasing grown men for $10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From looking at the history of attendance since the inception of Friday Nite Hockey, the majority of people have been there about 90 percent of the time. For this reason, the business about not knowing if you can commit or not will not fly. Get your money in now to reserve your spot or you will be on the spare list at best and at worst you will be contributing to the cancellation of Friday Nite Hockey. Usually when you join a skating or swimming class you pay for all the lessons upfront. Whether you attend the class is up to you but you don't get any money back! Simple as that.

Also if you want Friday Nite Hockey to continue next year, It will be an upfront charge of approximately $240. (Based on Oct - Mar at $40/month). No exceptions!! So for those that have money problems I suggest you start saving now. As of April 1st, Buy a piggy bank and start depositing $40/month or $10/week or $1.43/day and just like that come Oct 1st you will have enough money to pay for the entire season.

After trying the honor system without any success, it's sad to see things come to a point where someone has to have a pen and paper to track payment each week but I guess it is what it is.

Thanks for your cooperation. See you Friday.

Public Address from Sharny

First off, we would like to thank everyone who has paid up in full for the rest of the year.
Secondly, we would like to address some concerns raised over the new "pay in full" rule (ie. players not sure if they can commit every week or players on shift work etc.)
We don't want to put anybody in a difficult position and we understand the issues that have been raised, but I don't think everyone is understanding the reasoning behind the new rule. It's pretty simple:
Ice Cost = $202/night: Regardless of how many players show up.
Unless someone else wants to volunteer to put their credit card on the line and hope that 20 guys show up on every night just to break even we have no other choice but to require everyone to pay up front.
So again, if you cannot commit then you are welcome to pay and play on a weekly basis but you cannot just show up when you feel like. You will have to e-mail myself a day or two in advance and if we are short players for that week you are most welcome to come out.
For those of you that were not there last week, you will not be charged for it but the line has to be drawn somewhere. It will be $70 for the rest of the year (7 ice times) whether you can make it this week or not.
Committee
ps. Let's leave the lumber at home and play some "hockey" this week.
Bill, you know you were two feet offside on Ohlund's goal. It was a nice goal so I let it go!!

Black 4 - White 2

Team Black Captain Shatter took matters into his own hands Friday night as Team Black clawed and battled their way to a 4 games to 2 series win. The Team Black win was overshadowed by Bad Ass Billy Commish's new Collective Bargaining Agreement which states that all players must pay the remaining ice time fees in full for the rest of the year. Veterans such as Toor did not take this news lightly as he was seen spending numerous hours at River Rock Casino on his cell phone attempting to contact the Commissioner for a one-on-one meeting.

White 3 - Black 2

Team White was flying high on all cylinders last Friday night as they took care of a depleted Team Black lineup. Junior had to switch teams to help balance out the two squads but just couldn't muster up the courage to help Team Black win. New Team White acquisition Charlie Kaila has secured a very strong defensive lineup that already includes Paul "Its all good" Samra and Sharny "I thought I picked a good team" Kaila.

NEW RULE FOR FRIDAY NIGHT HOCKEY!!!

Starting next week all ice team for the remainder of the year will be paid in full up front. For the remainder of the year that means $80 per guy for 8 more ice times.
Next year 1/2 payment will be due in the first week and 1/2 in New Year's.
We currently have 12 players (regulars) on each side plus two goalies, not including P.Gill, Bomo, Jessy and Charlie. There are enough guys wanting to play so it's pretty simple, you pay to play. The ice time is costing us over $200 per session so we can not have guys showing up when they feel like and paying when they feel like. It also puts us in a difficult position cause there are many more guys wanting to play but we end up turning them away b/c nobody wants too many players either.
If any of the following apply to you then you have the option of continuing to pay on a weekly basis, but you will only be called to play if one of the regular paying customers is not able to make it:
1) you do not agree with the new rule
2) you cannot afford to pay $80 all at once, but can blow $300 at the bar on any given night.
3) you happen to be from Port Alberni and do not want to lose $10 the next time you get wasted and pass out off two beers before Hockey.
4) you are a great poker player but due to a string of bad luck you keep losing $400 every time you go to the Casino, leaving you with no money for the $10 drop in fee.
This will be no different than if you were playing in an actual league. If you cannot make it out then you lose out on your $10 for that week. If you play in a league and you miss some games, you can't expect other guys to buck up and pay your share. Exceptional circumstances can be reviewed by the committee and reimbursement may be an option if there is excess money.

dirty money

Toor was arrested in delta. paid the dirty cop off with $40 but, still played friday nite hockey for free stating he had no cash on him. commish received urgent fax from ny. investigation under way..will keep you posted

losers vs losers

Team Black is offering Team White to play amongst themselves in hopes of boosting moral. We on Team Black agree that if Losers play against Losers, then surely some Half Ass Winners will emerge outta this plan. Maybe it will make you Losers feel better...and give you Losers a taste of what victory feels like...

Black 3 - White 2

GM Sharny Kaila was busy this week by signing Charlie Kaila to a 1 game contract from the GPF league. Ryan Bhala also returned to the lineup to help make it a closer game than last week. Commissioner Bill Virk has secured the new arena in Delta for the rest of the year. He will be issuing a "state of the union" address later this week.

TUTTI IS PISSED

Makhan's Agent Tutti Poo (no relation to Hanky or Winnie Poo).

Is pissed at his client's playing time. He also doesn't want his client on Team Darkness.

Poo: Makhan means white. Makhan is the whitest butter you can get. It is hand churnned by the whitess hindus from the whitess water buffaloes in India.

I mean look at this guy does he look evil?

Black Out in Delta

GM Smiter Kaila looked like a genius and couldn't help but grin ear to ear when his team trapped Team White into submission. The strategy worked so well that Team White decided to leave the ice early in total disgust. Although Mak Parhar skated for the winning team, he was disappointed by the "lack of entertainment" that the system produced for all the fans he bought tickets for in the stands. Mak prefers to entertain the crowd and can be seen at hosting Yuk Yuks during the week.

Also note, President Bill Virk signed a long term lease with Delta Recreation Center

LUBE-IT-UP

Delta, BC Looks like the price of butter is going down. Recent trend shows the price of kweau is plumetting. Team Darkness forward Makan is unhappy with his role on the team, and could request a trade out of town.
Makan has become increasingly frustrated recently due to his diminishing role on the team, and his “irregular ice time since the start of the season.”
“The third game I was already down to 11 minutes of ice time. It’s not like the season began and I had 18 minutes of ice time. I didn’t really get that chance and then after just a month of the season I was a healthy scratch.”
The Darkness forward also felt slighted by the team during training camp when it became clear that he wasn’t going to be utilized in a more offensive role, a major reason why he left the Yellow Belly's organization.
“It’s not like I have a three-year deal. I have a one-year and if I don’t produce I’m not safe. It’s been tough for me all season,” Makan said.
While his agent Tutti Poo has had meetings with Darkness GM Smitter about the player’s future, Poo claims he did not “demand a trade but he’s prepared to ask for a deal” should the two side not come to a “mutually beneficial understanding.”
“I will tell you honestly, if nothing changes I will begin to explore trade options,” Poo said. “He’d like to be used more than he’s used right now. I will wait a couple of days, maybe through the all-star break, and then we’ll see what happens.”

Black 5 - White 4

The draft brought two distinct styles of hockey to the rink on Friday night. Team Black relied on great goaltending from Pardip and a tight defensive system to slow down speedsters such as Pipes, Junior and defensive threats Sharny and Samra. Black needed a couple of 1-0 wins to take the series 5-4 in the North Delta Rec Center.

Some post-game locker room comments:
"We suck, they have all the skaters!" - Darshan
"1-0 is the blueprint for success for Team Black" - Kulvir
"We won without our offensive leader Bill" - JT
"Did you get my email about the NFL wide receiver?" - Deep
